About Helen Walker
Well, you’ll have guessed by now that I’m an EFT enthusiast (putting it mildly!) and that I have a passion for the principles of Reiki.
What you may not have realised is that I came to this work as one of life’s great sceptics. (Yes, I can see you’re sceptical about that.) Well, it’s true. I had my first energy treatment back in 1999, and I was stunned by what I experienced.
Being the sort of person I am, I wasn’t going to take this experience lying down (although it was a Reiki treatment, and I
was lying down).
Instead I proceeded to embark on a journey of discovery through quantum physics to eastern philosophy and back again. I learned more and more about the electromagnetic nature of the human body, and was shocked (and stunned) to become aware of the vast human potential that lies untapped because of our limited Newtonian education.
Everything I offer through
Inner Energy is a reflection of my learning and personal growth, and represents my attempts to share what I have learned.
I have been extremely interested in personal development since the age of 16 (much to the annoyance of my friends) when I was handed my first book on Transactional Analysis by a stranger on a train. Little did she know what she was starting!
Since then, I have devoured numerous books and trainings on psychotherapy, mental and emotional health, and self-help in general. I continue to read extensively in these areas, (when I’m not reading “Harry Potter”), and to put into practice what I learn.
(“
Accio vast amounts of money!” - Pah! I’m still working on that one.)
I teach many courses in related topics such as assertiveness, communication skills, dealing with anxiety and increasing self-esteem, to name but a few. I run regular training courses throughout the year for the
Princess Royal Trust.
I am a graduate of Glasgow University and (for my sins) a former schoolteacher and staff development trainer.
I am a licentiate member of the
National Council of Psychotherapists, which sounds impressive, and a fully registered member of the
General Teaching Council.
I am also a member of ACEP (
Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology).
I am an
MET Advanced Practitioner and an
EFT Advanced Practitioner.
I am also an
EFT Level 3 Trainer for the AAMET and a
Reiki Master (8th in line to Dr Usui, if you're interested).
In July 2007, having been an EFT Master Candidate just as Gary Craig’s EFT Master Program was brought to an end, I was delighted and honoured to be
the first person in the world to be given a special award for my achievements by the newly created EFT Masters Worldwide group.
I was equally thrilled to be given the responsibility of co-ordinating the development of the criteria and training for a new 'highest credential' EFT program on behalf of the EFT Masters Worldwide.
This means I get to name-drop shamelessly in EFT circles, and to feel chuffed with my achievements to date.
In many other aspects of my work, I am self-taught and consider my life to be an eternal classroom in which I remain a very eager pupil.
